The WBC heavyweight champion of the world Vitali Klitschko will defend his title against British challenger Dereck Chisora on Feb. 18 live from the Olympianhalle in Munich, Germany.
Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 40 KOs) was slapped at the weigh-ins on Friday by Dereck Chisora (15-2, 9 KOs), Chisora used the unprofessional tactics to get into Vitali’s head, but Vitali believes it was more a sign of fear and intimidation saying that Chisora made a big mistake slapping him at the weigh-ins and he will pay on Saturday night in the ring. Chisora is a live underdog in this fight, he has the youth on his side, he is 28 years of age to Vitali’s 40, and he has put on competitive showings in his losses to Tyson Fury and Robert Helenius. For Klitschko this will be another notch on his belt and beating Chisora will show just how limited competition is in the heavyweight division, with the only top heavyweight being his brother Wladimir Klitschko a fellow champion, the two promised to never fight in the ring.
The Vitali Klitschko vs. Dereck Chisora heavyweight championship fight will be broadcast live on RTL in Germany, Box Nation in the UK, and in the US it will be shown on EPIX at 4:00 PM ET, Feb 18, 2012.
