Strikeforce: Miesha Tate vs. Ronda Rousey on Showtime will take place during the Arnold Sports Festival at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, United States on Saturday, March 3, 2012.
Tate vs. Rousey is considered one of the most anticipated female mixed martial arts events in the history of the sport. Not since Gina Carano vs. Cris “Cyborg” Santos has there been this much buzz for a women’s MMA championship bout main event.
Miesha Tate is the Strikeforce women’s 135-pound champion and Ronda Rousey is the undefeated challenger who loves to intimidate her opponents with trash talk outside of the cage and break arms inside the cage. Both women are dangerous and beautiful, and look to follow in the footsteps of former Strikeforce champion Gina Carano by bringing more attention to women’s MMA and hopefully getting the same level of success as well.
