Saturday night’s NBC Sports Network Fight Night broadcast will feature a triple header that includes two 10-round heavyweight non title fights, Sergei Liakhovich vs. Bryant Jennings and Tomasz Adamek vs Nagy Aguilera, and the main event Zab Judah vs. Vernon Paris in a 12-round junior welterweight non title match.
The main event between former world champion Zab Judah (41-7, 38KOs) and undefeated rising star Vernon Paris (26-0, 15KOs) will be an IBF title eliminator — the winner gets a shot at the IBF junior welterweight title.
Zab Judah is a long time boxing favorite and a veteran who has fought the biggest names in the sport from Kostya Tszyu, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Miguel Cotto, and Amir Khan. Vernon Paris is an up and coming boxer with a rough upbringing from nearly being killed, to overcoming adversity in the tough streets of Detroit, who is coming off a sensational win over Tim Coleman and is on the cusp of fulfilling his dream of being a world champion.
Tomasz Adamek and Sergei Liakhovich are two well known names in the heavyweight division and looking to try and climb the ranks at another shot at the title. Tomasz Adamek held titles at light heavyweight and cruiserweight but failed to capture the title at heavyweight against WBC champ Vitali Klitschko. Sergei Liakhovich was a former world heavyweight champion winning the WBO title against Lamon Brewster only to lose it in his next fight to Shannon Briggs by knockout.
