(BOLTON, 28 May) – After being announced as an official Olympic torchbearer for London 2012 Amir Khan is set to hold a rare media workout session this Wednesday.
The boxing star is to carry the Olympic torch through his town of Bolton the following day and he is inviting all members of the media to his training session as he prepares for his July 14th fight with undefeated WBC light-welterweight world champion Danny Garcia.
The two-time world champion is spending his final week back in Britain before jetting off to LA where he will continue his training camp.
Amir Khan said: “I’m spending my last week in Bolton before I leave for LA to continue getting ready for my next fight. The coming weeks hold some big things for me.
“Carrying the Olympic Torch is a very special honour – especially through the streets of the town that I have grown up in. It’s a real privilege to be able to do this before I leave the comfort of my home to get ready for what will be an absolutely explosive fight against Danny Garcia.”
Amir and team will be available for one-on-one interviews following his workout.
