Victor Ortiz was originally scheduled to fight Andre Berto in a rematch but plans changed after Andre Berto failed a pre-fight random drug test for traces of the steroid Nandrolone. Instead of cancelling the fight card all together Golden Boy Promotions offered the fight to tough young fighter Josesito Lopez out of Riverside, California to fill in for Berto and he accepted. Lopez is no tune-up, he will give Victor Ortiz a tough test, and could pull off the victory and upset the upcoming September pay-per-view match-up between Ortiz and undefeated Mexican sensation Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
