The brightest young star in boxing is a “Problem” his name is Adrien “The Problem” Broner and he gives every one of his opponents a problem in the ring — he systematically breaks them down and knocks them out.
Broner is a younger version of Floyd Mayweather Jr. both of them are flashy and very confident in the boxing ring. They got the talent to back up the talk. People like to talk down on Broner cause he sounds and acts like Floyd Mayweather, but imitation is the best form of flattery and who better to imitate than Money Mayweather? If I were an up and coming young boxer I would model myself after one of the greatest boxers of all time. This is what makes Broner smart, he copies what Floyd does in the ring because he knows how effective Floyd’s style is. If Broner were dumb he would copy Manny Pacquiao and get knocked out like Amir Khan, who is a feather fist, glass jaw version of Pacquiao.
I think Adrien Broner can do what the great Henry Armstrong did and jump up in weight from 130-pounds straight up to 147-pounds and fight Manny Pacquiao as an introduction to the division. I say this because Pacquiao and his team are too scared to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. so they would look at Broner as a smaller version of Floyd and think they would just overpower him and beat him. The only problem is Broner will spoil those plans and beat Pacquiao worse than Tim Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez did. Broner is more aggressive than Mayweather Jr. and if Pacquiao would try and think he could overpower a young buck with that type of talent he will get chin checked and think twice before coming in wild again. Broner fights at a lower weight than Pacquiao but he is of similar height and weight — the fight is easy work for Broner. This could be the first fight to end the Top Rank vs. Golden Boy cold war, because Adrien Broner isn’t going to demand a ridiculous paycheck against Pacquiao and we all know Bob Arum loves to get the most money so he will get the lions share for a Broner vs. Pacquiao PPV.
After the Tim Bradley fight, it seems Pacquiao is on the road to becoming a stepping stone for younger fighters, he is never going to be the same and he will be used like he used past prime fighters Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley to make a name for himself.
The Floyd Mayweather Jr. era is almost over, and Adrien Broner will carry the torch for this new era in boxing.
