Floyd Mayweather Jr. has now accepted the reality that his skills along with father time have made it impossible to defend his title against Manny Pacquiao, he came to that conclusion after the Miguel Cotto fight.
After reviewing, analyzing and comparing his performance against Cotto and boxing style versus Pacquiao’s performance against Cotto, he probably realized that his lack of effective punching power versus Manny Pacquiao’s ability to take and deliver a very devastating counter attack and adding to that Manny Pacquiao’s speed that now equals his would make it difficult for him to win.
As far as speed, at one time it would have been the greatest advantage over any opponent by far and away, father time catches up to everyone, perhaps if Manny would have tried to assail mount Mayweather at the time of the first Erik Morales fight in 2005 his camp would have had and easier time of making the fight happen? But I know for sure that at that time Floyd would have whipped Manny soundly the fight would have ended by TKO.
