I am getting sick and tired of all these Manny Pacquiao fanatics trying to discredit the great Mexican boxing legend Juan Manuel Marquez because he knocked out their hyped up hero. First they were saying he was stepping on Manny’s foot in the third fight and that caused the cramping, now they are saying he is taking steroids that gave him super human punching power, the newest excuse is the punch was lucky. Did you ever think that Manny Pacquiao never really had a strong chin? Also, why cry about steroids when Pacquiao doesn’t even take any random drug testing for his fights? Hypocrites!
I’ve been saying it over and over and over that Manny Pacquiao and his Pacman moniker was all hype, he can’t eat punches unless his opponent is slow or weight drained. Marquez was bulked up and muscular, he put on solid muscle and trimmed off the fat, he wasn’t going to play that game and make himself bloated or slow so Pacquiao could have his way with him that is why he hired Angel “Memo” Heredia a credible sports scientist.
Tim Bradley is more of a challenge for Marquez than Manny Pacquiao, Bradley already whooped Pacquiao and all the biased Pacquiao fans started crying robbery. Watch that fight again without the biased HBO commentary and you will see the truth, the fight was closer than you think and Bradley won the fight clearly by slipping all of Pacquiao’s shots. Bradley had broken ankles and Pacquiao still couldn’t drop him. Marquez just exposed Pacquiao’s overrated chin and overrated punching power, Pacquiao threw his best punch and still couldn’t hurt Marquez, all he did was cut up his face, Marquez ate all those punches for breakfast.
When you are fighting drained, slow or washed up fighters anyone will look amazing, Pacquiao could take the punches of Miguel Cotto because he was drained at a catch-weight and had no energy to throw his punches full power, same with Antonio Margarito he was drained badly to another catch-weight. This is why I consider Juan Manuel Marquez the savior of boxing, he exposed Pacquiao big time in front of millions around the world and if they fight again, Marquez will knock Manny Pacquiao out again–he’ll do it easier.
If you crybabies know your boxing history, show me one prime fighter at the top level that Manny Pacquiao beat convincingly? Marco Antonio Barrera was not the same fighter when Pacquiao stopped him and in the rematch he couldn’t even finish Barrera. Erik Morales beat Manny Pacquiao in their first fight, and than Pacquiao had to drain Morales for both rematches and beat a shell of the former legend. Oscar De La Hoya washed up and drained. Ricky Hatton unfocused and past it. Miguel Cotto weight drained and came off a brutal beating by Antonio Margarito and Joshua Clottey. Joshua Clottey was a drained fighter who could barely throw any punches. Antonio Margarito inactive, weight drained and wasn’t the same after the Sugar Shane Mosley beating. Sugar Shane Mosley washed up, couldn’t pull the trigger and wasn’t the same after Floyd Mayweather Jr. beat him. All three fights with Juan Manuel Marquez were robberies that he didn’t deserve, and the fourth fight proved it once and for all with Marquez winning the fight with a sweet one punch KO.
If Pacquiao fights again, even if it isn’t Marquez, I will almost guarantee he will get knocked out cold again. If Bob Arum wants he can use Pacquiao as a stepping stone for rising Mexican American star Brandon Rios, I think Rios would destroy Pacquiao so bad that Freddie Roach will have to throw the towel in.
If you want to talk lucky punch just look at Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton, now that is a lucky punch. Real boxing fans who following the sport and not just one boxer know that Marquez’s punch wasn’t lucky, he hit Pacquiao with right hands over and over when they fought and dropped him with a right hand before he knocked him out in the sixth round. All you ignorant fake fans trying to discredit this great Mexican boxing legend need to grow up, give the man his recognition, he did boxing a favor by ending the hype.
