Live from the Sports Arena in Los Angeles, CA, Showtime sports presents a night of boxing action with a triple header boxing broadcast. The Showtime triple header will feature Amir Khan vs. Carlos Molina as the main event, followed by two exciting 10 round bouts, Alfredo Angulo vs. Jorge Silva in a junior middleweight bout, and Deontay Wilder vs. Kelvin Price in a heavyweight bout.
Since suffering a knockout loss to Danny Garcia in July, Khan (26-3, 18 KOs) had to think about his boxing future, and decided that he needed to switch trainers because he felt his former trainer Freddie Roach was too busy with Manny Pacquiao and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. that he didn’t have enough time for him in the gym. Khan hired trainer Virgil Hunter who is known from training undefeated Olympic gold medalist and current super middleweight champion Andre Ward, Hunter was brought in to help Khan improve his defense and patience. Khan and Hunter will test their strategy on Saturday night against Carlos Molina (17-0-1, 7 KOs) an undefeated boxer from Los Angeles.
Another Virgil Hunter trainer fighter Alfredo Angulo (21-2, 18 KOs) steps back into the ring after his quick first round KO of Raul Casarez last month, he faces Jorge Silva (19-2-2, 15 KOs) in a junior middleweight 10 rounder.
Promising undefeated heavyweight and US Olympic bronze medalist Deontay Wilder (25-0, 25 KOs) will get some TV time on the Khan vs. Molina card as he takes on fellow undefeated heavyweight Kelvin Price (13-0, 6 KOs) in a 10 round non title bout.
