ALLENTOWN, PA (February 7, 2013)—This Saturday night a big night of boxing will originate from the Rodeway Inn in Allentown, PA promoted Marshall Kauffman’s Kings Promotions.
In the main event, local favorite Keenan Collins will take on George Rivera in the eight round Jr. Middleweight main event. The bout is a rematch of a draw between the two that took place on April 27, 2012
An exciting co-feature has been added as undefeated Jr. Middleweight John Thompson takes on once-beaten Grayson Blake in a six round bout.
Collins (14-7-3, 9 KO’s) of York, PA is on a two fight unbeaten streak and has fought some of the top Jr. Middleweights such as former world title challengers Delvin Rodriguez and Gabriel Rosado as well as top contenders Jose Angel Rodriguez, Henry Crawford and Charles Whittaker
Rivera (13-7-1, 4 KO’s) of Charlottesville, VA has a similar resume to Collins as he has been in with top competition such as former world champion Manny Siaca as well as contenders Latif Mundy, & James Stevenson. Rivera has key wins over former Contender contestant Jonathan Reid and undefeated Jesse Nicklow.
Thompson (10-0, 3 KO’s) of Newark, NJ has been stepping up the competition with each fight. The twenty-three year old has quality wins over Jermond Bourgeois (TKO 2), John Mackey (UD) and his last bout when he scored a six round unanimous decision over Elie Augustama on December 1st at Madison Square Garden as part of the Austin Trout – Miguel Cotto championship fight card.
Blake (5-1, 2 KO’s) of State College, PA won his first five contests which includes a six round unanimous decision over then undefeated DeCarlo Perez. Blake will be looking to get back in the win column following his first professional blemish when he dropped a six round unanimous decision to Robert Sockwell on November 10th in Reading, PA
In a six round Heavyweight slugfest, Aaron Kinch (4-1-1, 1 KO) of Newark, NJ takes on William Miranda (6-5-2) of Allentown.
In a six round Super Featherweight bout, Frankie De Alba (5-1-2, 2 KO’s) of Reading, PA takes on Lancaster, PA native Isaac Suarez (7-2, 3 KO’s)
A pair of four round bouts round out the professional bouts: Sammy Quinones (0-1) takes on Charles Mack (0-0-1) of Philadelphia In a Lightweight bout; In a Heavyweight bout, Eric Newell (4-1-1, 2 KO’S) of nearby Bethlehem, PA takes on undefeated Mark Rideout (2-0) of Philadelphia
There will be 12 amateur bouts featuring some of the best young talent in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Washington, DC
