HBO Boxing After Dark returns on March 30th, with a double header featuring the much anticipated rematch between two exciting top 140 pound fighters Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios and Mike Alvarado, and a co-feature lightweight match-up between Breidis Prescott and undefeated prospect Terence Crawford.
When Brandon Rios (31-0-1, 23 KOs) and Mike Alvarado (33-1, 23 KOs) first fought in October or 2012, both fighters were undefeated and only one would leave the ring with their unblemished record, the victor that night was Rios and Alvarado lost by TKO in the seventh round, a fight that left the fans on their feet and was one of the fight of the years for 2012. Alvarado believes he fought the wrong fight against Rios and in the rematch will be able to make the proper adjustments to come out on top, for Rios nothing changes he will continue to fight his high pressure style and grind out the victory either by stoppage or hard fought decision.
The opening bout between Terence Crawford (19-0, 15 KOs) and Breidis Prescott (26-4, 20 KOs) pits two hard hitting fighters in an 10 round non title match-up. Crawford is a highly touted rising prospect who has fought professional for 3 years and remains undefeated, Prescott is best known for his first round KO of British boxing star Amir Khan, this will be Crawford’s toughest test.
