PHILADELPHIA, PA (April 17, 2013)—This Friday night at Harrahs Philadelphia, one of the best amateur boxers in the United States is set to make his pro debut as Lightweight Damon Allen will take on Joseph Ahaamid in a bout scheduled for four rounds.
The fight is part of a packed nine bout card promoted by Joey Eye Boxing and David Feldman.
The main event will feature a ten round bout for the Pennsylvania State Light Heavyweight bout featuring Dhafir Smith (26-23-7, 4 KO’s) of Upper Darby, PA and Anthony Caputo Smith (13-1, 10 KO’s) of Kennett Square, PA.
Allen of Philadelphia competed in over 160 amateur bouts and looks forward to his debut.
“I am feeling good. I just came back from the USA Championships and I am anxious to turn pro.” said Allen.
The twenty year-old’s amateur pedigree is long and decorated.
Allen was a top-two junior and then went on to win the bronze in the United States Championships which gained him an automatic qualifier for the 2012 Olympic Trials.
After competing in the 2013 Championships, Allen is ready for his pro debut.
Allen is signed to powerful D & D Management.
The management team consisting of Doc Nowicki and David Price have a strong stable of fighters between them which include former world title challengers Mike Jones and Teon Kennedy as well as contenders Emanuel Taylor and top prospects Naim Nelson, Jesse Hart, Mark Rideout and Todd Unthank-May.

In a six round Lightweight bout, Victor Vasquez (16-7-1, 7 KO’s) of Philadelphia takes on an opponent to be named.
Julio DeJesus (7-3-3, 4 KO’s) of Chester, PA battles Ariel Duran (7-3-1, 4 KO’s) of New York in a six round Jr. Welterweight bout.
Javontae Starks (6-0, 5 KO’s) of Minneapolis, MN takes on an opponent to be named in a six round Jr. Middleweight bout.
Alex Barbosa (4-1-1, 1 KO) of Philadelphia will box Jose Del Valle (0-1-2) of Corozal, Puerto Rico in a four round Super Bantamweight tilt.
Super Bantamweight Arthur Parker (1-8-1, 1 KO ) of Lancaster, PA takes on debuting Drew Aguillar of Philadelphia in a four round Super Bantamweight bout.
Welterweight Anthony Prescott (1-1-1, 1 KO) of Cherry Hill, NJ takes on an opponent to be named in a four round bout.
