SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND, April 12 – Yet another impressive bout has been added to “The Return of the King: Khan vs. Diaz” card on April 27 at Motorpoint Arena Sheffield with undefeated Bolton prospect Rick Godding (18-1-0, 3 KO’s) taking on Welshman Bradley Pryce (33-12, 18 KO’s).
The bout will be a six round clash at light-middleweight with the emerging prospect, Godding, facing a real test when he steps in against an experienced campaigner and former Commonwealth light-middleweight champion in Pryce.
“I want to keep progressing as a fighter and for each fight to be tougher than the last,” said Godding. “Pryce is a well rounded fighter who has fought for British and Commonwealth titles. It’s a good next step for me and one I am ready for. I have big ambitions in the sport and Pryce is a fighter I will need to get through if I want to realise those dreams.”
“This is a good fight for me and a chance to prove that I still have so much to give,” said Pryce. “I’m determined to win more titles and to do that I have to face the best around. Godding is a good prospect but I’ll be out to show that it’s completely different at this level. I know what it’s like to be in big title fights and I’m just looking forward to showcasing my skills on such a big card.”
Godding vs. Pryce joins an already stacked card which features Amir Khan vs. Julio Diaz in the main event, Deontay Wilder vs. Audley Harrison in the co-featured fight, plus Anthony Ogogo vs. Kieron Gray, Haroon Khan vs. Stefan Slavchev, Gary Sykes vs. Jon Kays, Nate Campbell vs. Terry Flannigan, Adrian Gonzales vs. Marc Callaghan, Jack Catterral vs. Marc McKray, Tomasz Mazurkiewicz vs. Adam Jones, with Doncaster’s Carl Spencer also featuring on the bill.
