UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones returns to the site where he won the belt, the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, to defend his title against the notorious Chael Sonnen who calls himself the Gangster of West Linn, Oregon.
Jones and Sonnen were both on The Ultimate Fighter coaching against each other, now that the reality competition show is over, they will now square off in the Octagon to settle their differences. Sonnen who is best known for his opinionated personality and his feud with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva landed the fight with Jones after Dan Henderson who was originally scheduled to fight Jones pulled out because of injury suffered in training camp. Some fans including champion Jon Jones question the credibility of giving Sonnen a title shot at light heavyweight having just lost the rematch to Anderson Silva, but Sonnen is out to prove that this time he has what it takes to beat the champion.
