Former multiple weight world boxing champion “Sugar” Shane Mosley returns to the ring to face young hungry 23-year-old Mexican boxer Pablo Cesar Cano in a 12-round welterweight showdown live from The Grand Oasis in Cancun, Mexico on May 18 live on FOX Sports Networks and FOX Deportes en Espanol.
“Sugar” Shane Mosley (46-8-1, 39 KO’s) is 42 years of age, and coming off multiple losses to the likes Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao and most recently to young Mexican superstar and WBC junior middleweight champion Saul Canelo Alvarez, he wants to make one more run at 147-pounds to see if he still has what it takes and his motivation is to prove all of the doubters wrong who’ve been calling for his retirement.
Pablo Cesar Cano (26-2-1, 20 KO’s) is best known for his loss against Paulie Malignaggi which many people felt he was robbed in. In the Malignaggi fight Cano was able to hang with the WBA welterweight champion but unable to capture the title losing a controversial decision, his only other defeat came against Mexican Legend Erik Morales at 140-lbs.
Mosley will be fighting to prove if he still has it at the late age of 42, and the young Cano wants to add a victory over the legendary name of Sugar Shane Mosley to his resume.
