Manny Pacquiao has been mentioning Floyd Mayweather’s name in the media recently and calling him out to a fight. All of a sudden he wants to fight Money May when he just got knocked out, I wonder where the change of heart came from? Maybe it’s because the Pacman is no longer relevant and is desperate for a huge payday after he realized his check was nothing compared to the $40 million that Mayweather offered him to make the fight happen.
I find it so funny that Manny Pacquiao is dropping Mayweather’s name when he already has a fight lined up for November against Brandon Rios. Pacquiao’s team always does this, anytime he has a fight scheduled they bring up Mayweather to gain interest or sell tickets, this time it won’t work because nobody cares about Pacquiao anymore and the fight is going to be in China not the United States so nobody is going to order the pay-per-view because like Floyd said, “Pacquiao is a has been”.
Pacquiao is washed up, he is past it and he doesn’t have what it takes to be a worthy challenger to a boxing king like Mayweather. Pacman and his fans are in denial, and when Pacquiao fights Brandon Rios and gets knocked out again, I hope they finally shut up with this delusional idea that Floyd is ducking him. Floyd would have boxed Pacquiao’s head off with one hand tied behind his back and any knowledgeable boxing fan agrees.
When Floyd Mayweather fights Canelo Alvarez in September, he has a great chance of breaking the Pay-Per-View record of 2.4 million buys, or at least getting 2 million buys which would make it the second highest behind Floyd Mayweather vs. Oscar De La Hoya. If Floyd does this he will solidify himself as the greatest draw in the history of boxing as well as the greatest pound for pound fighter in the world when he beats Canelo. The media has moved on from the Manny Pacquiao hype, and are looking forward to a real fight with Mayweather vs. Canelo. Pacquiao can do all the begging and trash talk he wants but one thing is for sure, when he fights Brandon Rios in China he won’t be making the type of payday Canelo will make when he fights the cash cow Money Mayweather on September 14, I bet Pacquiao is hitting himself on the head everyday thinking about the time he rejected that $40 million offer.
