HBO World Championship boxing goes to the 1STBANK Center in Denver, Colorado on October 19 for the Mike Alvarado (31-1, 23 KOs) vs. Ruslan Provodnikov (22-2, 15 KOs) WBO light welterweight championship bout.
Denver’s own Mike Alvarado will be able to defend his WBO 140-pound title in front of a sold out hometown crowd when he faces off against the tough Siberian boxer Ruslan Provodnikov on HBO.
The fight will lead to a possible big fight for either boxer in 2014, whoever wins tonight could face the winner of the upcoming Manny Pacquiao vs. Brandon Rios bout from China, or a move up to 147 pounds to take on undefeated WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley who successfully defended his belt against Juan Manuel Marquez last Saturday night in Las Vegas.
The HBO broadcast will start off with the replay of last Saturday’s Pay-Per-View welterweight championship event Timothy Bradley vs. Juan Manuel Marquez before the Alvarado vs. Provodnikov live title fight.
Watch the replay of Tim Bradley vs. Juan Manuel Marquez and the live event of Mike Alvarado vs. Ruslan Provodnikov on HBO World Championship boxing Oct. 19 at 9:45 PM ET/PT on HBO.
