Showtime Championship Boxing presents a triple header boxing event featuring IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins vs. Karo Murat, IBO middleweight champion Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin vs. Gabriel Rosado, and Olympic bronze medalist Deontay Wilder vs. Nicolai Firtha from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey on October 26.
Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins is a multiple division champion and eldest person to win a boxing world title and at 48 years of age he will defend his IBF light heavyweight belt against German based boxer Karo Murat. Hopkins hasn’t knocked out an opponent since 2004 when he faced Oscar De La Hoya at a catchweight bout, he believes Murat will be his first KO victim since then.
Rising star and current IBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin goes by the nickname Kid Chocolate and has a perfect record of (29-0, 21 KOs) he will defend his title against Gabriel Rosado (21-6, 13 KOs) a durable fighter out of Philadelphia and best known for his tough bout with Gennady Golovkin.
The opening bout of the Showtime broadcast will feature 2008 United States Olympic bronze medalist heavyweight and undefeated knockout artist Deontay Wilder (29-0, 29 KOs) against journeyman boxer Nicolai Firtha (21-10-1, 8 KOs) from Akron, Ohio. Wilder is considered the best hope for an American boxer to regain a world title in the heavyweight division.
