The Ultimate Fighting Championship heads to Barueri, Brazil on October 9 with UFC Fight Night 29: Demian Maia vs. Jake Shields which will be televised live on Fox Sports 1 in the USA.
The UFC Fight Night 29 main event will be a welterweight showdown between two of the best welterweight grapplers in mixed martial arts, Demian Maia is a decorated Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighter from Brazil and a former middleweight contender, he will face off against Gracie Jiu Jitsu student and former Strikeforce champion Jake Shields.
Also on the card is the return of deaf fighter Matt Hamil who hasn’t fought since 2012 but is back to face the dangerous puncher Thiago Silva – the fight will be at a catchweight of 208 pounds just a few pounds above the UFC light heavyweight limit.
