HBO Boxing After Dark returns to New York with a double header featuring WBO super featherweight champion Mikey Garcia in the main event putting his WBO belt on the line against Juan Carlos Burgos and two undefeated heavyweight’s American Bryant Jennings and Artur Szpilka of Poland risk their unblemished records.
Two division boxing champion Mikey Garcia is young, undefeated, and ambitious. He is looking down the road to bigger and better match up’s including a climb to welterweight division to take on the famed Filipino boxing star Manny Pacquiao. First he must defend his WBO 130-pound title against the hungry challenger Juan Carlos Burgos on Saturday night.
The undercard bout is a heavyweight showcase featuring two undefeated contenders, American Bryant Jennings and Polish boxer Artur Szpilka. The 29 year old Jennings is a boxer who isn’t known for having one punch KO power, but he is considered one of America’s best hopes for a championship belt. Szpilka is only 24 years old but he is already drawing a large Polish fanbase in Chicago, as well as boxing fans from around the world with his exciting style of brawling and boxing.
