The biggest fight in Canadian boxing will pit two of Quebec’s own against one another when former super middleweight champion Lucian Bute moved up to the 175 pound division to take on former light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal at the Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada on January 18 on HBO World Championship Boxing.
Bute is coming off a brutal knockout loss to Carl Froch and a win against Denis Grachev in 2012, he is looking to comeback strong in 2014 with a big win against the hard hitting Haitian Jean Pascal.
Pascal is coming off two wins since losing his light heavyweight title to Bernard Hopkins in 2011, he brought in legendary boxing champion Roy Jones Jr. for this camp for support.
The opening bout for the HBO boxing broadcast will be a heavyweight fight between undefeated Cuban southpaw Mike Perez and power punching Cameroonian Carlos Takam.
