Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida will take on the highly touted Gegard Mousasi in a middleweight main event for UFC Fight Night 36 on Fox Sports 1.
The event will take place at the Arena Jaragua, in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil on February 15, 2014 and will feature five MMA bouts on the TV broadcast (10:30/7:30 PM ET/PT on FS1).
UFC Fight Night 36 will be stacked with local Brazilian talent such as former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida, former Strikeforce middleweight champion and DREAM veteran Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, Charles Oliveira and Brazilian star Erick Silva.
Machida will be in his second bout at 185 pounds having campaigned the majority of his career at 205 pounds, his debut at middleweight was an explosion he finished off former training partner Mark Munoz by devastating head kick KO in the first round. Mousasi like Machida fights between 205-185 pounds, recently he had a run at lightheavyweight but his fight with Machida will be his return to the middleweight division.
