World champion heavyweight boxer Wladimir Klitschko (61-3, 52 KOs) will defend his titles on ESPN and ESPN Deportes against Alex Leapai (30-4-3, 24 KOs) on Saturday, April 26 in Oberhausen, Germany at the König-Pilsener-Arena.
The world championship fight will be 12 rounds for the IBF, WBA, and WBO heavyweight belts. Klitschko has held the heavyweight title since 2006 and if he continues to defend his titles he can possibly break the 25 title defenses record set by Joe Louis.
Alex Leapai like most of Klitschko’s opponents is an underdog, much smaller than the champion, but like many challengers he is willing to give up height, reach, and weight advantages to try and dethrone the long reigning champ.
The Samoan-Australian Leapai is coming off a decision win against Denis Boytsov and the Ukranian champion Klitschko battered Russian challenger Alexander Povetkin to a 12 round unanimous decision victory.
The Klitschko vs. Leapai fight will be televised on ESPN/ESPN Deportes and online live stream at ESPN3 at 5:00/2:00 PM ET/PT.
