Three exciting fights will air tonight April 26 on Showtime Championship Boxing, with the main event featuring the undefeated knockout artist Keith “One Time” Thurman against former lightweight champ Julio “The Kidd” Diaz.
Keith Thurman is one of the hottest rising stars in boxing, he has power in both hands and the boxing ability to win a fight on points. He wants to deliver knockouts every time he fights and was given the nickname “One Time” because all it takes is one punch for him to change a fight. His opponent is the Julio Diaz part of the Diaz brothers boxing family, his brother Joel trains him and is well known trainer to boxer Timothy Bradley who just fought Manny Pacquiao.
The return of “The Machine” Lucas Matthysse will also take place on the Showtime card. Matthysse is looking to bounce back from a loss to light welterweight champion Danny Garcia, his opponent is fellow power puncher and former lightweight contender John Molina Jr. of Covina, California. Mattysse vs. Molina has the makings of an all action brawl between two power punchers.
Omar Figueroa will have the chance at revenge when he takes on Jerry Belmontes who beat him in the Amateurs. This will be Figueroa’s first fight since his grueling twelve round win over durable Japanese pressure fighter Nihito Arakawa. Figuerora vs. Belmontes will be for the WBC lightweight championship.
Keith Thurman vs. Julio Diaz triple header will air live on Saturday, April 26 at 9:25 PM ET/PT on SHOWTIME.
