Heavyweight championship boxing comes to ESPN with a WBC world title fight between Haitian born Bermane Stiverne and Mexican-American Chris Arreola, live from the USC Galen Center.
Stiverne and Arreola first faced off last April for a WBC eliminator bout with the winner facing Vitali Klitschko for the championship belt. Stiverne beat Arreola and was next in line to fight for Klitschko. With focus on his political aspirations in the Ukraine, Klitschko vacated the WBC title and now, a rematch between Stiverne and Arreola was chosen for the vacant belt.
Arreola previously fought for the WBC belt against Vitali Klitschko but lost the fight, his dream and goal is to win a heavyweight title and to be the first fighter of Mexican decent to be heavyweight champion, he will have a second shot to fulfill his dream on Saturday night.
Joe Tessitore will be ringside with ESPN boxing analyst and fellow Friday Night Fights commentator Teddy Atlas calling the fight live from Los Angeles, with host Todd Grisham in studio.
Bermane Stiverne vs. Chris Arreola will air live on May 10 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and will be available for live stream on computers, tablets, and smartphones through WatchESPN.
