The Showtime sports documentary series “All Access” takes you behind the scenes and into the training camps of Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez and his Cuban opponent Erislandy Lara as they get ready for their huge July 12 PPV boxing match at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
There is bad blood boiling between the two camps, Lara and his fans believe Canelo has been ducking him and was only forced to take the fight, but Canelo tells a different story he said he demanded the fight just to shut up the doubters.
Canelo and Lara share a common opponent in Alfredo Angulo. Canelo had a more dominant performance over the Mexican slugger, while the Cuban won a TKO against Angulo he was dropped and hurt bad in the fight, but Lara and his team believe Angulo was already damaged goods after they beat him and softened him up for Canelo.
In Canelo’s biggest fight against undefeated American champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., he felt he was unprepared for the big stage and learned from his loss. Erislandy Lara is a slick southpaw who could present problems for the younger star and outbox him in similar fashion to Mayweather.
