The pound for pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather returns to the ring to rematch Marcos “Chino” Maidana after the two had a close and somewhat controversial fight last May. The fight was one of Floyd’s toughest bouts, he won the decision but had to compose himself and weather the storm of punches coming from Maidana. Two sides believe they won, and fans are split, some say Floyd Mayweather adjusted later on and landed the cleaner effective punches while the opposition claims Maidana outworked Mayweather.
Mayweather will defend two weight division titles in one night his WBC light middleweight belt and his WBA/WBC welterweight belts.
The Co-Main Event pits the exciting undefeated WBC super bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz against Manuel Roman. Awkward and unorthodox boxer Miguel Vazquez will defend his IBF lightweight title against The Money Team boxer Mickey Bey who is promoted by Floyd Mayweather and trained by his father Floyd Sr. The opening bout is Alfredo Angulo versus James de la Rosa in a 10 round middleweight non title match.
Showtime Championship Boxing will broadcast the Pay-Per-View event live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Showtime commentary team consisting of Mauro Ranallo, Brian Kenny, Al Bernstein, and Paulie Malignaggi will call the fight.
