Premier Boxing Champions presents a double header Danny Garcia vs. Lamont Peterson and Andy Lee vs. Peter Quillin live from the Barclays Center, in Brooklyn, New York on NBC.
The April 11 card will feature unbeaten Puerto Rican American light welterweight champion Danny “Swift” Garcia against fellow champion Lamont Peterson in a catchweight non title headliner.
Garcia is known for his heavy left hand knockout power and his ability to time faster opponents as they come in most notably when he knocked out the fast British boxer Amir Khan. He has fought and beaten the best boxers in his division, his opponent Peterson also has a win over Amir Khan.
The opening bout of the NBC telecast and live stream is a WBO middleweight championship between champ “Irish” Andy Lee and former champion unbeaten Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin.
Lee won the world title by stopping Matt Korobov in 6 rounds last December. Quillin was the previous owner of the WBO belt, he was originally scheduled to fight Korobov but vacated his title giving way for Lee and Korobov to fight for the vacant title.
Lee vs. Quillin is an interesting match up because both fighters can end the fight with one punch and it will be a huge step up in competition for Kid Chocolate. The winner could face the top dog in the division Gennady Golovkin in a middleweight unification.
