Live from Madison Square Garden in New York, Gennady Golovkin the most dominant middleweight champion in boxing today will headline his first HBO Boxing Pay-Per-View against hard hitting Canadian IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux on October 17.
WBA champion Golovkin (30-0, 30 KOs) is touted as the man to replace Manny Pacquiao who is close to retirement as the most exciting active boxer in the world. He has 30 fights with all 30 by way of stoppage, tonight he will fight in a middleweight unification bout against a man who promises to test his chin, Lemieux is a very hard hitter but he has tasted defeat before and was stopped.
Golovkin vs. Lemieux has the makings of fight of the year, with a possible knock out of the year, two power punchers who don’t know how to take a backwards step means fireworks.
The Co-Main Event of the evening features unbeaten WBC flyweight champion Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (43-0, 37 KOs) of Nicaragua versus former two division world champion “The Hawaiian Punch” Brian Viloria (36-4, 22 KOs) of Hawaii, USA.
