Episode 2 of HBO’s 24/7: Canelo/Khan (Full YouTube Video Below) begins with a look at Amir Khan’s faith, a British-Pakistani, and practicing Muslim is shown attending Mosque on Friday and praying, he credits his religion as an integral part of who he is as a person. Khan also wants to set a positive example to those who have a prejudice view of Islam that not all Muslims are bad people.
The 24/7 cameras cut to Canelo Alvarez and talk about his humble beginnings in a small town in Mexico, to living in a beautiful Mansion in San Diego, California where he set up training camp. All his success is credited to hard work and perseverance.
At 25, Canelo is not only the WBC middleweight champion, a Mexican superstar, but also since the retirement of Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao he has now taken the helm as the biggest draw in boxing.
Both boxers enjoy the sunny California weather, with Khan cruising in his Corvette Stingray, to Canelo enjoying the outdoors with his dog. Although they enjoy themselves outside the ring they also push their bodies to the limit in training camp. This is the final stage of training until they head out to Las Vegas for their May 7th ppv showdown.
