The most anticipated rematch happens at UFC 202 on August 20, when Stockton’s own Nate Diaz faces off against the loud, tough talking Irishman Conor McGregor in the main event. UFC 202 Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz 2 will be live streamed on YouTube video PPV.
The McGregor vs. Diaz rematch will be held at the same 170 pound welterweight limit as the first. The first bout at UFC 196 was a shocker, nobody expected Conor McGregor to get choked out by late replacement Nate Diaz, but that’s the beauty of the combative sports, anything can happen.
After the fight Conor gave props to Nate for the win, but later realized he was his own worst enemy having taken Nate lightly and focusing more on size rather than stamina and conditioning. Conor believed his cardio and conditioning wasn’t up to par and that he overexerted himself early, and looks to pace himself and be more efficient in the rematch.
For Nate Diaz, he believes the excuses from Conor are just more fuel to the fire. Nate said he didn’t even have a full training camp for UFC 196 and whooped him, but with a full training camp he will be even more prepared to destroy Conor again and send him back down to featherweight.
