WBA lightweight champion Jorge Linares will return to the Manchester Arena in England to rematch hometown favorite Anthony Crolla and defend his world title for the first time on March 25.
Linares, 31, comes from Venezuela, and hasn’t lost a bout since 2012 when he suffered back to back knockout losses to Antonio DeMarco and Sergio Thompson. After consecutive defeats he was written off but made an impressive comeback going on a 10 fight win streak capturing the WBC and WBA lightweight titles in the process. His resurgence is an impressive one.
Crolla is a 30 year old native of Manchester, England, he held the WBA lightweight title and put on some impressive performances including his KO win of Darleys Perez to capture the WBA belt. Crolla was having a bit of a career revival himself with a 10 fight win streak before losing to Linares.
The Fight will be televised live on Sky Sports in the UK and on SHOWTIME stateside.
