The most exciting middleweight boxer in the world today, Gennady Golovkin also known as Triple G will face off against tough Brooklyn boxer “Miracle Man” Danny Jacobs in a middleweight super-fight and a co-feature super flyweight championship Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzlez vs. Srisaket Sor Rungvisai live on March 18 from the storied Mecca of boxing Madison Square Garden live on HBO PPV and BoxNation in the UK.
Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) is widely considered the most dominant force in boxing pound for pound. He stalks and terrorizes his opponents with a brutal pressure fighting style that pounds away at the body and head leaving his opponent no choice but to crumble either by ref stoppage or knockout. He will be in against his toughest test when he takes on Cancer survivor Danny Jacobs.
Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) a native of New York, made one of the greatest comebacks in boxing, after being diagnosed with Cancer and falling ill he defied odds and beat the illness to go on to win the WBA middleweight championship of the world. He is a devastating puncher in his own right with 29 of his 32 victories coming by way of knockout.
Jacobs vs Golovkin will solidify who the legit lineal middleweight champion is, and it should deliver an exciting match between two hard punchers with technical boxing skill. The winner of Jacobs vs. Golovkin could face the Canelo Alvarez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. victor for a huge mega-fight down the line.
In the co-main event, WBC super flyweight champ Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (46-0, 38 KOs) will defend his belt against Thailand challenger Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (41-4-1, 38 KOs). Chocolatito is coming off a hard fought title defense against Mexico’s Carlos Cuadras, he is in with a durable rugged Thai boxer in Rungsvisai and wants to put on a more technically dominant performance to show he just had on off night in his last fight.
