We are only two days away from seeing top 5 pound for pound boxer Vasyl Lomachenko squaring off against New Jersey’s Jason Sosa. Lomachenko will be defending his WBO super featherweight title on Saturday night at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
Nicknamed the Hi-Tech fighter, Lomachenko is known for his outstanding versatility when fighting. He is ranked the fifth best pound for pound boxer in the world according to BoxRec, sixth by The Ring magazine, and seventh by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. He has a 7-1 record with 5 knockouts. He will do what he does best and that’s overwhelm Sosa from odd angles to get the victory.
Saturday night’s challenger Jason Sosa is coming in determined and is proven to be a tough fighter as he will likely stand toe to toe with Lomachenko. He does have more experience in terms of more professional fights than Lomachenko. With a record of 24 wins, 1 loss, and four draws with 15 of those fights coming by way of knockout, he can use his experience to defeat Lomachenko. Sosa looks to prove that he is tough and can stand with the best of them and will try and prove the critics wrong Saturday night.
Lomachenko is the clear favorite to win and retain his world title. He has certainly proven to be one of the best in the lightweight division. The pressure is on Sosa now and he will need to give his all to pull off the upset.
