Two weight division world champion Vasyl Lomachenko headlines HBO World Championship Boxing on April 8 at the MGM National Harbor in Maryland against Jason Sosa.
Lomachenko is considered by many the pound for pound best boxer since the retirement of Floyd Mayweather Jr, he has the skill set that combines high offense with high defensive moves. He is coming off his biggest win against Nicolas Walters in November where he made the former champion quit on his stool handing him his first defeat.
Jason Sosa is a rugged fighter from the Camden, New Jersey area. He is best known for handing highly touted Javier Fortuna his first professional defeat, and giving Nicolas Walters a tough fight which wound up being a Draw, with many ringside observers believing Sosa did enough to pull off the win.
Shortly after his Draw to Walters he fought for the WBA super featherweight title against Stephen Smith beating him to become a champion for the first time.
Sosa is looking to continue his streak of upset victories, if he beats Lomachenko he will capture his second world title and pull off his greatest upset victory.
