Big time boxing will take place at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California when Matchroom Boxing holds a loaded fight card on December 9 featuring two world championship bouts, Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis for the WBC light welterweight title, and Ebanie Bridges vs. Miyo Yoshida for the Women’s IBF bantamweight belt.
In the Co-main event undefeated Australian rising star Liam Paro (23-0, 14 KOs) takes on American Montana Love (18-1-1, 9 KOs) in a 12-round light welterweight bout.
One of the feature bouts of the evening has the widely popular women’s IBF bantamweight champion Ebanie Bridges (9-1 4 KOs) of Australia putting her title on the line for a second time against former world champion Miyo Yoshida (16-4) of Japan.
Yoshida was a late replacement because the original opponent Avril Mathie was forced to pull out of the fight due to an injury suffered in training camp, the world title is still on the line. This will be a great chance for Yoshida to try to capture another title, but the cards are stacked against her because Bridges packs a punch and the Japanese challenger has zero knockouts to her resume so she has little chance to hurt Bridges. Yoshida will need to box the perfect fight and hope the judges score it in her favor to pull off the upset.
